Our Mission
Jaguar Women in Technology (J-WIT) is a student organization at the University of South Alabama created for the purpose of supporting women in technology. Specifically:
Increasing the recruitment and retention of women in computing at all educational levels (K-12, undergraduate, graduate, and professional)
Improving the education and learning environment for women in the computing fields at the University of South Alabama
Providing communication between students, faculty and professional women in the computing fields
Increasing knowledge of the contributions of women in the computing fields.
Why Join J-WIT
The lack of women in the STEM (science,
technology, engineering, and math) fields is a well-documented and much researched problem that exists across the nation, and here at the University of South Alabama.
If you think it is important to recruit and retain as many women as possible in the computing field, you should join the J-WIT!!!
Together, we will help celebrate, inform and support women in computing.
