The chapel at Wibtoft is something of an anomaly.
Together with the church at Claybrooke Parva it forms the ecclesiastical parish of Claybrooke with Wibtoft in the Diocese of Leicester.
Wibtoft chapel is however located in the civil county of Warwickshire!
At the 2001 census the hamlet had a population of around 50 persons.

Wibtoft Chapel Future:
Subsequent to the Wibtoft Chapel Community Meeting on 10th July 2024 the PCC has formally agreed to request the diocese to initiate the process that may result in the Chapel being permanently closed as a place of worship.
A letter has been delivered to each home in the hamlet and members of the electoral roll explaining the reasoning behind the decision and outlining the next steps.
A copy of this letter is available here, and will be on the Upper Soar Facebook Page shortly.
Second Public Meeting re St Mary's Chapel Wibtoft on 10th July 2024
A second meeting was held to outline once again the serious challenges faced by the lack of volunteers to organise maintenance and cleaning, the dwindling finances and the poor attendance at the monthly services.
The purpose of the meeting was to ask the question whether the Chapel was needed as a place of worship for the residents of Wibtoft, to invite feedback and determine whether there was concrete commitment, vision and a willingness to support the chapel financially, with human resource for maintenance and to fund raise.
A record of that meeting can be accessed by clicking here.
