Apex

Apex is the largest realm in terms of civilization, contested only by the many dwarven kingdoms of Ganlas. Many towns and villages dot the verdant, fertile countryside. These rural communities are sometimes plagued by monsters and threats that originate from the large, untamed forests. These threats give rise to many adventurers, so comes as no surprise when an adventurer claims Apex as his home realm. Apex is also the most rigid in terms of government. The many feudal lords and barons answer to the king in the Capital city of Apex. These lords in turn harbor knightly houses as vassals and call upon them when the need arises. It is exceedingly common to see a castle or manor alongside every village and town.

The Capital City of Apex as it is formally called is also simply referred to as Apex. It is a bustling and busy metropolis consisting of a multitude of districts and quarters. This list is not complete, but gives a bit of rough detail about the various places in Apex.

Loughport or "West End"

Situated at the bottom of a hill, this dark and wet borough is the underbelly of Apex. It resembles a stone jungle featuring tall buildings and small roads and pathways in between blocs. Up above you can see the more affluent parts of the city which can seem like miles away in some parts of the borough. On the boundaries are warehouses and dockyards that lead into the Choral River that is bustling with activity non-stop throughout the day. The actual streets are winding and confusing, a symptom of new parts of the borough being built as needed and without any forethought or mind to urban planning.

Loughport is the hot spot for most of Apex crime where a lot of gangs call home, namely the Scarlet Sabers. Graffiti and "restricted access" inns dot the cityscape. This isn't to say the the honest citizens here live in fear, but they are at the whim of the local gangs.
