An introduction to the field of genomics. Data availability and methodologies that are being developed for the analysis of complete genomes. Description of genomic data types (sequences, annotations, continuous data) and relevant formats.
We will be covering the basic concepts of Epigenetics through the lens of big data integration schemes. We will be discussing strategies for assessing epigenetic regulation of gene expression and how these may be coupled with next-generation sequencing technologies.
Sequence to Structure to Function
This lecture will focus on ways to integrate data from multiple sources through systems-biology approaches. We will see how data from various origins can help us gain biological insight, discover emergent properties of systems and build predictive schemes for complex biological phenomena.
