Since 2004, the UHPTA has been proud to present its annual Red Hot Readers program. This exciting program is designed to increase a student's love of reading and comprehension by exposing them to a variety of books with different genres and authors. Students who become Red Hot Readers also reap the rewards of reading by earning credits redeemable toward the purchase of books!

Starting in October, the Red Hot Readers book selection sheets will be available below. The student can choose to read 1, 2, or all 3 of the book selections that are listed each month. Red Hot Readers earn $0.25 credit per book read. Older students reading longer books will have the option to earn $0.01 per page, up to $0.75 credit per month.

Students can use their credits at the annual spring BOGO Book Fair, where books are buy-one-get-one free.

To become a Red Hot Reader, you and your child simply need to fill out the contract form and submit it by the due date. Then be sure to let us know the books your student read by the end of each month using the submission form, which can also be accessed from the UHPTA.com home page by clicking the little flame logo.

ALL students are eligible to join. If your child is not yet reading, you may read the book to them.

We look forward to another exciting year of Red Hot Readers! If you have any questions regarding the Red Hot Readers Program, please contact the Red Hot Readers Chairperson(s) at uhptaRHR@gmail.com.
