A Forum on the Future of Fusion Energy
and Plasma Science Research in the US
Physical Sciences Complex Building
Room 3105
University of Maryland, College Park
December 14-15, 2015
A two-day forum will be held to discuss the status and future of fusion energy and plasma science research. The principal output of this forum will be the organization of follow-on community-led activities that address critical issues for the success of fusion and plasma research in the U.S. Since the vitality of our field of science is intimately tied to its health within the academic community, members of the University Fusion Association (UFA) are eager to help facilitate a broadly based process that strengthens and communicates the opportunities for future research. While fusion is an emphasis, the scope of the forum includes non-fusion plasma science. The importance of a vital academic community and a desire to strengthen plasma science broadly motivates shared discussion and planning in this forum. Participation by national laboratories, private industry, and universities is necessary for this discussion and planning.
More information can be found from the presentation and the written description.
If you cannot attend the Forum, but would like to be included in UFA 2015 Forum informational e-mails, please send your e-mail address to info@universityfusion.org.
The Forum agenda, and remote access instructions for the Plenary Sessions are given below. (The parallel breakout sessions will not be broadcast.)
The Forum will be held in the University of Maryland-College Park Physical Sciences Complex (click on the link for a map).
