Academic Programs
NOTE: This is work in progress. Feel free to reach out with new links, connections to new university programs, updates on departments. Eventually we hope to provide more high-level details for each university and its variety of programs both highlighting the educational and research components.
On this page we provide a non-complete list of current university programs in the United States where there is active research and/or educational program studying plasmas and/or fusion physics and technology.
Education
Prospective students interested in the study of plasma and fusion science are encouraged to contact these schools directly. A graduate degree focusing on plasma physics or fusion science and technology can lead to exciting careers in academia, national laboratories, and industry. We list below academic programs with a link to plasma and/or fusion science and technology.
Research
Academic programs have varied and unique research programs. The majority of fusion energy start-up companies are the direct product of exciting, innovative and higher risk ideas that flourish in the diverse intersectional groups at universities. Those interested in seeking out specific expertise and knowledge should reach out to these programs directly.
