Fostering the next generation of leaders, experts, and advocates in fusion energy policy.
The Fusion Student Delegation (FSD) will assemble students interested in plasma and fusion science from across the nation in Washington DC to discuss challenges facing fusion energy with lawmakers, government officials, and policy experts. Inspired by the highly successful Nuclear Engineering Student Delegation (NESD), participants will attend a week-long program of policy workshops, discussions with think tanks, networking events, and meetings with congressional offices. This program will take place annually, with preference given to new participants. FSD intends to arm a diverse cohort of future scientists and policy experts with the skills they need to contribute to fusion science policy throughout their careers.
