Sketchmobs was a community sketchbook for the Internet, created in 2008.
Artists (never “players”) take turns drawing on a collection of sketches. There were no limitations – anyone could draw on any sketch, any time.
Each stage in a sketch is saved for “history replay” later.
Each of these examples were drawn by 3 to 6 different users, without communicating with - or even knowing - one another.
Popular sketches receive “thumbs” (up), which generate bonus “nibs” (points) for every artist who participated in a sketch. In its completed form, Sketchmobs would provide “group ownership” of canvases and display spaces, “free use” public areas and premium tools and features.
