Dr. Soumya Mukherjee Defended his thesis on 8th July 2024.

Current Position:  Soumya is in the process of moving to ENS, Paris, France for his postdoc under Prof. Sukhdeep Dhilon.

Thesis title: "Investigation of Light Harvesting and Magnetic Quantum Materials Using Ultrafast and Terahertz Spectroscopy". 

Dr. Anjan Kumar NM defended his thesis on 24th May 2024. 

Current Position:  Postdoc in Technical University, Dresden, Germany for his postdoc under Prof. Stefan Kaiser

Thesis title: "Ultrafast and terahertz spectroscopy of 2D magnetic materials and transition metal oxides". 

Jit Sarkar (Joint PhD with Prof. Chiranjib Mitra) defended his thesis on 06th March, 2020. 

Current Position: Postdoc in Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (FHI-MPG), Berlin, Germany under Dr. Laurenz Rettig (Dynamics of Correlated Materials ) .

Thesis title: "Ultrafast Optical and Low frequency Spectroscopy of Semiconductor Nano-systems and Quantum Materials"

11. Simli Mishra (2015-2020) - PhD (defended in  May, 2026) under Prof. Andrew Mackenzie in Max Plank Institute for Chemical Physics of solids, Germany. Currently PostDoc at Max Planck Institute of Chemical Physics of Solids, Dresden, Germany.

12. Kokate Prajakta Makarand (2015-2020) - PhD (defended in April 2026)  in OIST, Japan in Prof. Keshav Dani's group.

13. Mahendra K (2014-2019) - Pursuing PhD in Uwe Bovensie's group in Duisburg-Essen Germany.

14. Vinay Pareek (2014-2019) - Pursuing PhD in Prof. Wolf von Klitzing's group in Greece (BEC).

15. Manoj Kumar (2013-2018), is currently working as "Senior Business Manager" at HCL Technologies, Chennai 

16. Shashank Jha (2013-2018), is currently working as an official in Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India

17. Prashanth Srivastava (2013-2018) - did higher studies in data sciences, UK. Currently, he is working as Machine Learning Engineer for Xebia to help its customers build and manage scalable AI, Data, and ML solutions. 

18. Shankar Menon (2012-2017) - currently, a postdoctoral researcher at Quantum Optics Lab, Harvard University and CEO and Co-Founder of CavilinQ, a quantum technology startup focused on scalable quantum solutions. He did his Phd in PME, Chicago (https://pme.uchicago.edu/bernien-group/people/shankar-g-menon). He was the first BSMS student from UFTHS group. He did his 5th project in our lab in collaboration with Prof. Chiranjib Mitra. On completion of his 5 year BSMS, he decided to stay on for a year and was actively involved in setting the pump-probe experiments.
