About the Club

The UI Swing Dance Club has infused swing dancing in the Iowa City area since 2001. The club was formed to educate people in and around Iowa City about swing dancing and swing culture. Currently, the Club provides dance lessons for both the university and non-university community. It is our goal to build a strong swing dance community and to produce, promote, and support swing dance events.

Our group promotes the learning of Lindy Hop, East Coast Swing, Jitterbug, Charleston, Vintage Blues, Collegiate Shag, and Balboa. We are open to helping people learn other styles as well.
