Mission

The Phi Delta Chi pharmacy fraternity develops leaders to advance the profession of pharmacy. Phi Delta Chi, a lifelong experience, promotes scholastic, professional, and social growth in its Brothers. We strive to provide quality services to our patients, thereby advancing public health and strengthening ourselves as health professionals.

What Phi Delta Chi Can Offer You

Phi Delta Chi promotes scholastic achievement and support, empowers its Brothers to become leaders in pharmacy, offers unlimited opportunities to meet peers and faculty, and develops an extensive network of lifelong friendships which will strengthen and support your career in pharmacy as well as in your personal life. The Alpha Sigma chapter takes great pride in it's members and their active involvement in all organizations at the UIC-COP to promote the profession of pharmacy.

Brotherhood

Phi Delta Chi fosters friendships through recruitment events such as Big-Brother/Little-Brother Night, Smoker, and Brotherhood Night. Our social events such as Tiki-Tiki, Fall BBQ, Hayride, Ski Trip, and Formal also offer fun bonding experiences for our Brothers.

Professional Development

Phi Delta Chi hosts and participates in a number of professional development events including Medication Disposals, Blood Pressure & Diabetes screenings, Poison Prevention Educators and Smoking Cessation Booths. Other opportunities include attending Regional and National Meetings, as well as P4 and Alumni Roundtables. Our Oncology Initiative focuses on community education and outreach regarding various oncology topics.

Community Service

Phi Delta Chi is committed to volunteering time and raising funds and awareness for worthy causes. One of the most notable causes the fraternity is involved with on a National level is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, whom we have been partnered with since 1995. Additionally, Brothers support many local organizations through participating or volunteering at charity events. The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Donate Life/Be the Match, and Hustle Up the Hancock are just a few of the community service activities we are involved with.

Leadership

Phi Delta Chi is dedicated to promoting leadership in pharmacy. Our members have the opportunity to serve in various leadership roles within our chapter as well as on a local and national level. Phi Delta Chi is the only pharmacy fraternity that provides its members with the opportunity to take part in a National Leadership Development Seminar (LDS) that is held every other year.
