Every year the Environmental Horticulture Club plans an international trip for students and faculty.
We raise money through our Poinsettia Sale and make international travel accessible to our active members, many of whom earn funding to attend.
These international experiences provide students with a better understanding of horticulture on a global scale,
and show them how their education will apply outside of college.
Where have we been these past few years?
Starting in Lisbon and working our way across Portugal and Spain, the ENH club had a week filled with garden visits and production tours. Having been immersed in the culture, food, and greenhouses, the 2024 trip was unforgettable.
A week filled with nursery visits, networking with Brazilian agricultural students, hang-gliding over Rio de Janeiro, and so much more! The 2023 ENH international trip had the pleasure of visiting beautiful South America.
From the ancient Colosseum to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the ENH club spent a week traveling to Rome, Florence, and the Tuscany region visiting the world renowned Boboli Gardens, sampling olive oil in the rural Tuscan countryside, and visiting wineries.
Despite COVID-19 cancelling the planned trip to Hawaii, the club had a blast visiting the not so far away paradise of the Florida Keys. Nursery and botanical garden visits, snorkeling, and jet skiing made this trip far from forgettable!
