Update - Phase 2 of Ireland's Roadmap for Reopening.
======================================================
1. Phase 2 of Ireland's Roadmap for reopening - June 8 2020
Gov.ie website to read the details. 'Here are five things you should know for Phase 2:
· Stay Local: You may travel within your own county, or up to 20 kilometres from your home if crossing county boundaries.
· Meeting other people: You may meet up to 6 people from outside your household both indoors and outdoors for social gatherings. Organised outdoor exercise, sporting, cultural or social activities of up to 15 people may take place.
· Shops: All retail is reopening. Shop locally, shop safely and support businesses in your community.
· Work from home: It is more important than ever to work from home where possible.
· Transport: Walk or cycle if you can. Only use public transport if you absolutely need to. Public transport capacity is limited because of social distancing requirements.'
2. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has updated guidelines for the wearing of face masks across the world as countries begin to reopen.
The Department of Health have listed three scenarios when you should consider wearing a face mask in Ireland.
They are;
• when staying 2 metres apart from people is difficult - for example, in shops, shopping centres or public transport
• by people visiting the homes of those who are cocooning
• by people who are being visited in their homes by those who are cocooning
However, the Department and the WHO stress that if you are sick you should stay at home and these masks are not a substitute for proper hygiene and social distancing.
3. Update from Baldoyle Library - June 10 2020
Regretfully, due to the current crisis, the building is not open to the public, I’m afraid this also includes meetings.
This will be reviewed on an ongoing process, but as yet, there are no fixed dates for general opening.
Our current working procedures are as follows:
Anyone who want a book from the library should phone us on 8906793 or email Baldoyleibrary @ fingal.ie with the title required and their library card details.
They will be contacted and a day and time organised for them to pick up the item/items.
People can also drop back books. The outer library door will be open from 9.45 am to 8pm Mon to Thurs and 9.45 to 1pm and 1.45 to 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
There is a table in the hall with a returns box under it.
We are currently restricted to the Fingal libraries only for our book supply but will do our best to find an alternative if necessary.
If you need any other information, just let me know.

7. Join us. Take part in the Dawn Chorus for Ireland. Sing Ireland - Dawn Chorus for Ireland update - https://dawnchorus.ie/ -
Further info from Bea Kelleher from Creative Ageing International for sending us on the below update
A few weeks ago, we swung the focus from everyone, to more particularly isolated individuals and people in care homes. With this in mind, we sent out information on songs which had been given to us by Folklore Ireland that are suitable for parents, children and grandparents to sing together. All songs have a video to sing along with, a sheet of lyrics you can print off, and we’ll add the notes shortly for the more musical amongst you. In that callout, we asked people in care homes to share with us how they were getting on and we had a great response. It is really brilliant to see the imagination, caring and connection. We wanted to particularly call out the Riverdale House Nursing Home who have given us permission to share some footage of a joyous singalong residents and staff hold regularly. We also want to show you a song which Brian Twomey wrote for lockdown for singalongs particularly in care homes or for people cocooning which he has also kindly allowed us to share. The possibilities for writing your own song to sing about the trials and the triumphs, the reflections and the connections are endless.
Give it a go and share the results with us by email, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter #dawnchorusireland

August 9 - Dawn Chorus - Ireland in Harmony, Together while Apart
'Finally on the first Saturday in Phase 5, after the restrictions are fully lifted, we will come together at the water’s edge all across the country to sing the new day in. Whenever that might be'.
8. Museum of Literature Ireland - Ulysses/Film commission by MoLI - click on this link to their website
As you will recall the Museum was on the list of suggested visits and during this period you may wish to tune in here every evening from 8pm Irish time to catch the latest episode.
https://moli.ie/whats-on/ulysses-film/
Alan Gilsenan’s Ulysses | Film was specially commissioned by MoLI. It is a personal response to – and cinematic ‘reading’ of – James Joyce’s iconic novel. Fractured and poetic, reverent and irreverent, the film is a ragbag of sorts; a myriad of images and sounds emerging from the infinite wonders of Joyce’s imaginary world.
Structured around the eighteen episodes of the book, the film acts as a distillation of Ulysses, and may be viewed as a series of short films or as one long continuous piece. We’re screening a new episode of Ulysses | Film every day from 30 May through to Bloomsday, 16 June, when we’ll also be airing special interview with the director, Alan Gilsenan
