January 2010 - Cognitive Behaviours. A very engaging talk was provided by Agnes Murray
February 2010 - French Cuisine & Travelling Solo - An entertaining talk was given by N Deignan on the Charm of French Cookery - based on her one week cooking holiday to Cannes.
March 2010 - Global Warming and Climate Change -Waste Management. Presentation from P Kennedy, Fingal County Council, who outlined how Waste Management is one of the solutions towards helping the environment
April 2010 - Irish Stamps, the influence of the GAA on some of the designs. Guest speaker, J Cummins, Philatilist, presentation included samples of stamps, coins, and GAA medals.
May 2010 - Guest Speaker from the European Consumer Centre The presentation covered general information; travel rights; buying on line; Scams etc. Log on to their website for more information www.eccireland.ie
September 2010 - Presentation and food samples by a Food Scientist from Oakhouse Foods
October 2010 - Winter Gardens and House Plants. C OFlynn, who is also a member of the Royal Horticultural Society of Ireland engaged us in an enjoyable, enthusiastic and practical talk on winter gardens. Plant cuttings and potted plants were brought along and lots of hints and tips provided .
November 2010 - Russian History and Comparison with Irish History during the 19th and early 20th century. Guest speaker Margaret Lawlor. At the end of her lecture we were directed to listen to T S Eliot’s recording of his poem The Waste Land on www.youtube.com.
November 2010 - National U3A Programme Co-ordinator with Age Action Ireland. M FitzPatrick outlined where the U3A Ireland programme is nationally and the international links. She referred the group to a proposed French Exchange with utl@oareil.org – The University of Free Time. As the site is in French, Google translation can be used to translate from French to English.
