Honest troubleshooting and practical solutions
TechGyver is a service by Wall Mount Guru designed for clients who need help with the technology side of their home setup, not just the physical installation.
Sometimes the TV is already mounted, the devices are already connected, and the problem is simply that everything is not working together properly. In other cases, a DIY setup may need expert help to get the picture, sound, apps, remotes, or connected devices working the way they should.
TechGyver is for those situations.
Instead of replacing equipment or starting over, I first focus on identifying the issue, optimizing what you already have, and recommending the most practical solution.
Your TV, soundbar, or streaming devices are installed but not working properly
You completed a DIY setup and something is not behaving the way it should
You are getting no sound, no signal, or intermittent issues
Your remote or control setup is confusing or incomplete
Your apps, IPTV, or streaming devices need setup or troubleshooting
You want your existing system cleaned up, optimized, and made easier to use
You are not sure what the issue is, but need someone experienced to figure it out
Diagnosis of issues such as no signal, no sound, incorrect input selection, handshake problems, ARC or eARC issues, lip-sync problems, and devices not communicating properly.
Setup and troubleshooting of soundbars, subwoofers, audio settings, HDMI ARC/eARC connections, optical audio, and source-to-audio routing.
Setup and troubleshooting for devices such as Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Android boxes, and similar streaming hardware. This includes network connection, app setup, audio/video settings, and source switching.
Assistance with adding or configuring apps, setting up IPTV-related devices or services already provided by the client, and organizing the system for easier daily use.
Help with pairing remotes, simplifying control flow, basic universal remote setup, and making it easier to switch between devices without confusion.
Helping your TV, soundbar, cable box, streaming device, and other components work together properly as one system.
Fine-tuning a system that is already installed but not performing as expected. This may include correcting settings, improving user flow, and reducing unnecessary complexity.
For situations where multiple things are wrong or the setup has become too confusing to troubleshoot without experienced help.
Use the TechGyver request form to tell me what is happening, what devices are involved, and whether you prefer remote or on-site help.
I offer a free 15-minute phone or a WhatsApp video call assessment to understand the issue and determine the best next step.
In many cases, I can quickly tell whether the problem is likely to be resolved remotely or whether an on-site visit is the better option.
Depending on the issue, I will either guide you remotely or schedule an on-site visit.
Many common setup and troubleshooting issues can be resolved efficiently without a visit.
If the issue requires additional time beyond the initial service window, I will discuss the next steps and any additional charges with you before proceeding.
Many issues do not require an on-site visit.
A remote TechGyver session can often resolve problems such as:
sound or input confusion
setup errors
streaming device issues
app configuration
remote programming
menu and settings adjustments
basic device integration problems
Remote support is ideal for clients who want a fast, efficient, and cost-effective solution.
All you need is access to your system and a phone or video connection so we can work through the issue together.
If the issue cannot be resolved remotely, on-site service is available for setup, troubleshooting, and optimization.
On-site visits are ideal when:
the wiring or physical connections need to be checked
multiple devices need to be integrated
the issue is intermittent or difficult to diagnose remotely
the system needs hands-on adjustment
a previous install or DIY setup needs correction
If follow-up work, parts, or additional visits are required, you will always be informed before any further work proceeds.
Phone or video assessment to understand the issue and recommend the best next step.
$49 for up to 1 hour (prepaid via e-transfer after FREE initial assessment)
Ideal for setup help, troubleshooting, app/device configuration, remote programming, and many common AV issues.
$99 for up to 1 hour (prepaid via e-transfer after FREE initial assessment upon scheduling)
Ideal for situations where physical access, wiring checks, or hands-on troubleshooting is required.
If extra time is needed beyond the initial 1 hour, it will be quoted and approved before any additional work begins.
If the issue requires additional trips, supplies, or follow-up service, a portion of the initial on-site fee can be credited toward the follow-up work, depending on the nature of the job.
The goal is to solve the issue as efficiently as possible, not to upsell unnecessary work.
Most issues can be resolved within the first remote session or on-site visit. If more work is needed, I will explain why, outline the next step clearly, and get your approval before proceeding.
