Elements of an Eagle Project
The Eagle Scout Workbook will be reviewed and discussed during your Eagle Scout Project Packet meeting. If you haven't already, please contact the Twin Valley District Eagle Coordinator for Pleasanton, Dublin and Sunol via email and review the Calendar for New Packet Meeting.
Steps of an Eagle Project
A simplified summary of the steps to attain the Rank of Eagle Scout.
NOTE: This is not a comprehensive list containing all the details necessary within each step.
Attend Eagle Candidate New "Packet" Meeting, review District Eagle Coordinator Calendar, look for "New Packet Meeting". (Packet meetings are video conferences).
Scout writes up his Eagle Scout Service Project Proposal (February 2023 printing).
Work with Scoutmaster to approve project.
Work with Committee Chair or Committee to approve project.
Work with Beneficiary to approve project.
Work with District Eagle Coordinator (that's me) to approve project.
Scout works on Letters of Recommendation (based on referrals named on Eagle Scout Rank Application) (Before working on your detailed plan)
Begin writing up you Detailed Project Plan.
Work with Eagle Coach on revisions.
Repeat above 2 steps until Final Project Plan revisions are completed.
Fundraising Application (only needed if project is $1,000 or more) approval from Scoutmaster, Beneficiary and Eagle Coordinator (depending on funding, link here).
Your workers execute project. You do not! You are the project manager. (NOTE: Two trained leaders from your unit with YPT and AB506 MUST attend any project execution days)
Write up Project Report.
Eagle Candidate's Promise, sign and date your Eagle Scout Service Project Report Workbook.
Get final signature from Beneficiary.
Get final signature from Scoutmaster.
Complete Eagle Scout Rank Application - this should be printed from Scout Book.
Eagle Candidate, sign and date your Eagle Scout Rank Application.
Scoutmaster conference, obtain signature and date on your Eagle Scout Rank Application.
Committee Chair conference, obtain signature and date on your Eagle Scout Rank Application.
You must complete above steps before your 18th birth date.
We are now using digital copies. See Board of Review page on what is needed and how to send your documents.
Turn in your signed Original Eagle Scout Rank Application to the Golden Gate Area Council (GGAC) office located at: 6601 Owens Dr., Ste 100, Pleasanton, CA 94588
The GGAC Registrar will then review application and provide the BSA LOCAL COUNCIL VERIFICATION Signature!
Eagle Board of Review will be schedule when the District Representative has received the Certified Eagle Scout Rank Application from GGAC Office and five(5) or more Letters of Recommendations. (COVID-19: Your Eagle Board of Review will be a video conference)
