Sawmill

To provide a safer work environment, improve lumber quality, and increase production without increasing labor, in 2004, we upgraded our sawmill equipment. These upgrades include a sawmill cab for the sawyer, a vertical edger for more accurate cuts, and a slab conveyor to eliminate manual handling of slabs.

By use of a circular saw and vertical edger, the log is processed. The slab cuts are conveyed to a grinder to produce wood fiber and mulch, and the lumber is separated into stacks. Unlike most sawmills, our sawdust is conveyed into a dry storage bin.
