Over 40 members of Trail Life USA / American Heritage Girls Troop NC0100 recently had Brad Hazelton with Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Parkgive a presentation on conservation and waterfowl habitat. The monthly theme of the group is conservation, which will include knowledge of waterfowl, conservation, and habitat, as well as teaching about working with wood working tools and tool safety. Troop NC0100 has partnered withSylvan Heights Waterfowl Park to build and place wood duck boxes around some of Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park land in order to promote waterfowl conservation. Josey Lumber Co. of Scotland Neck has donated cypress lumber to Troop NC0100 for the wood duck boxes. Once the boxes are completed, an outing for the group will take place to install the boxes in the habitat areas located near Whites Mill Pond in Scotland Neck.
