Observation Pack

New for the 24-25 season is The Observation Pack. Each page represents a different observation night that is shown in our Programme. There are 8 pages in the pack. Times were correct at time of publishing. For any amendments or queries please contact Dale Giles - Observation Secretary

Each page of the Observation Pack is split into 4 boxes:

Box 1:
General Information - When the sun set, when astronomical darkness starts and what the moon is doing.

Box 2:
The Planets - These are the planets which we intended to view on the evening. Telling us what time they rise or are visible from and at what angle on the horizon.

Box 3:
Deep Sky Objects - This is a mixture of objects to see. The box tells us information like that object number as well as its name. What Magnitude it is at and the object type.  It also gives us a brief description of how to find the object in the sky as well as some information about the object.

Box 4:
Constellation - This box is primary aimed at naked eye viewing. Each observation evening will have a different constellation. The brightest stars in the constellation are noted down along with their magnitude. Plus there is a description and some information of the constellation.
