I am Tony Alfredo Stabile, a researcher of the Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis (IMAA) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). I am currently the Associated Investigator of the PRIN-MIUR project "Detection and tracking of crustal fluid by multi-parametric methodologies and technologies" and the responsible of the High Agri Valley geophysical Observatory (HAVO; FDSN pemanent network code VD: https://doi.org/10.7914/SN/VD).

Education

In October 2004 I graduated with honours in Physics at the University of Naples “Federico II”, specialising in geophysics. I had a PhD in Geophysics (Geophysics doctorate, University of Bologna “Alma Mater Studiorum”) in June 2008.

Collaborations

I have collaborations with: Équipe de Sismologie, Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (France); Helmholtz Zentrum Potsdam, GFZ German Research for Centre for Geosciences (Germany); INVOLCAN - Instituto Volcanologico de Canarias (Spain); Laboratory of Geophysics & Seismology, Technological Educational Institute of Crete (Greece); Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (Egypt); Czech Academy of Sciences (Czech Republic); Department of Seismology, Ensenada Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education (Mexico); Sezione Centro Ricerche Sismologiche, Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale (Italy); Physics Department of the University of Naples “Federico II” (Italy); Department of Science of the University of Basilicata (Italy); Department of Earth and Geo-Environmental Science of the University of Bari “Aldo Moro” (Italy); Physics Department of the University of Salerno (Italy).

Past experiences

In 2008 I had contracts with the University of Naples “Federico II” for 9 month, working in the field of underwater acoustics. In 2008 and 2010 I collaborated with the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV, Vesuvius Observatory) for a total period of 8 months. For about three years, from October 2008 to June 2011, I was a contract researcher at AMRA scarl (centre of competence in the field of Analysis and Monitoring of Environmental Risk) in Naples, developing experiences in seismology, seismic risk, and seismic early warning. From April 2012 to December 2014 I carried out research on the natural and induced seismicity at the Environmental Observatory of the Val d'Agri in the framework of the project "System for the study of the local seismicity". I was a research fellow at the CNR-IMAA from July 2011 to September 2015, and then a researcher. From September 2015 to March 2019 I was the Principal Investigator of the project INSIEME (Induced Seismicity in Italy: Estimation, Monitoring, and sEismic risk mitigation) funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) in the framework of the research program SIR (Scientific Independence of young Researchers).

Editing

I am member of the Editorial Board of AIMS Geosciences, Topic Editor of MDPI Sensors, and I was the corresponding Guest Editor of the special issue “Induced seismicity: observations, monitoring, and risk management strategies” for Journal of Seismology.
