Ministering sisters are expected to:
Pray daily for those sisters they have stewardship over.
Listen to the Spirit to know how the Lord would have them serve and support these sisters.
Do what they are prompted to do! This step takes courage!
Communicate with companions.
Meet regularly with a member of their Relief Society presidency to report on needs and progress.
What might we be prompted to do in our ministering?
Put her name on the temple prayer roll when she is struggling
Pray daily for her, pray to know how you can support her
Be aware of her family and what is going on - participate in recitals, plays, soccer games, art shows, etc.
Acknowledge birthdays and other special days
Visit regularly and listen - show unconditional love to make it a safe place to share what is in her heart
Help her set goals and serve as an accountability partner
Keep her confidences
Stay in frequent contact through phone calls, emails, texts, social media, and simple acts of kindness
Regularly communicate with your companion and coordinate her care
Greet her at church. Let her know that she is missed when we don’t see her on Sunday, take handouts or treats if applicable.
Help her when she has an emergency, illness, or other urgent need.
Share gospel messages that you feel inspired to share, share your testimony with her
Invite and offer rides to activities and ward events
Notify a member of your Relief Society presidency or bishop if there are any problems – don’t wait for a ministering interview
