When it is dedicated, the Lindon Utah Temple will be our temple!
Construction is estimated to be completed in late 2025. Directions here are for embroidering a picture of the temple onto a white handkerchief to use at the temple dedication.
Supplies needed:
White handkerchief (we purchased these on Amazon)
Lindon Temple printout
Water soluble Embroidery Transfer Pen (water soluble so that leftover marks wash off)
Needle (recommend size 3) and Neadle Threader
White embroidery floss (we purchased DMC Pearl Cotton Ball size 12 white at JoAnn's)
Embroidery hoop (5" works best)
Small sharp scissors
Clear shipping tape
Transfer Instructions:
Put the pattern, facing up, where you want on the back of your handkerchief (make sure there is enough room to use the embroidery hoop)
Turn everything over and tape the pattern to the handkerchief securely.
From the front of the handkerchief, use a window or light box and blue transfer pen to trace the pattern on handkerchief.

Monica's Pro Tips:
Trace the pattern on the practice fabric and practice your stitches.
Leave space under pattern to add year of dedication and/or your initials.
Take your time with stitching, if you hurry you will pick out stitches…believe me, I know!
Use good light, stitching with white thread on white fabric is trying on the eyes.
Start and ending a stitch at every intersection makes for a cleaner design.
You Do NOT need to embroidery the tiny slash details; it might make your design muddled.
Use a needle threader!
Our monthly Project Group would be a good opportunity to work on these! Monica Freeman has offered to hold the activities at her house, and she can teach the embroidery in person if that's helpful.
