Okay, the facial rig:

The jaw bone rotates the jaw, the upper lip bone makes the lip go up or down. The mouth edge bones, well move them around, they make the mouth smile or look sad, make the mouth narrow or wide.

The eyelid bones close or open the eyes. The nose crinkle bones makes the nose, if he had one, crinkle. What it does is move the vertex around where the nose would be around the edge of the eye up a little.

The brow_knit or X shaped bone will make the brows knit, or make a frown. The brows themselvesdo a lot more. You can move them up and down to make the brows move up and down, or to the front and back to make the brows move to the front and back. But you can also rotate them. press R or use a gesture, or if that's your thing, use the gizmo (ctrl alt space to enable/disable) when you rotate them, you can make him look angry or sad.

That's all for the facial key controls. But that is not all for the face. There are a number of facial shapekeys which can help you with lipsyncing. A short rundown howto:

I have added shapes that use the same name setup as papagayos default

phonem set for easy lipsyncing.

How to use it:

- get papagayo at lostmarble.com/papagayo/

- load your audio in papagayo and let it calculate the lipsync.

- adjust the phonems layout papagayo creates for your audio until

you are happy with it. This means that the sound looks in sync with papagayo's

preview of 2D mouthshapes.

- save out the phonemsheet (.pgo) and load it in blenders text window

- in the action editor, align the shapes as the phonemsheet says they

should be aligned. Make keys where needed, it's no higher science, just tweak where the keys are and

tweak their influence to get a result that looks nice to you.
