20 mph winds altered our attendance and route from Pt. Austin to Oak Beach, making it more of a sightseeing ride. We walked to the mouth of the Pinnebog River, explored the Pt. Crescent Cemetery, stopped at the Day Use section of Pt. Crescent State Park. Total miles 9, but we had fun!

As July 4 is on a Wednesday this year, we did an early ride on Monday instead. It was a great ride, except for having to watch out for garbage bags. Monday is garbage day in this area. We realize how smart Marilyn Langley was when she scheduled all our rides for Wednesdays - less traffic and no garbage.

This was the first rescheduled rain date we've had since 2012! Rode from Pt. Austin to Oak Beach. Short detour at Pt. Crescent State Park at the bridge.

After lunch at PAKS, Marilyn discovered she had a blown tire. Very lucky this did not happen on the ride!

6/28/2018 The bike rack we donated at the Caseville Break Wall is now installed. Mark K. and Mike H. installed our plaque. It looks fantastic.

Great Ride! Trail from Millington to Columbiaville

6/13/2018: Grindstone to Light House Park - The hardest ride of the season.

Strong winds (19 mph with gusts up to 30 mph) on the way back made this ride a challenge. To be able to maintain 6 mph was a struggle. Everyone had a sense of accomplishment at the finish.

June 8, 2016 a VERY COLD and WINDY ride from Grindstone to Lighthouse Park

temps high 40's, wind 20+ mph

At the lighthouse we met Matthew Pierce, who was paddleboarding from Lexington, around Michigan's shoreline, down the Mississippi to the gulf, returning to Michigan via the intercoastal on our eastern seaboard. He was staying at the campground until the 4 to 5 ft. waves subsided. Follow him on bigmanbigadventure.com or on facebook.
