Play Readings with Justin Neal

Post date: Feb 14, 2018 6:53:43 AM

UPDATE: THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED DUE TO REWRITES! WE WILL POST AN ALTERNATIVE DATE WHEN WE KNOW IT - LIKELY THE 29th or 30th!

Our January artist in residence is writer Justin Neal. He is hoping to gather together a group of people interested in reading through two of his plays, as well as presenting a public performance at the end of his stay.

The first read through will take place on January 13th in the Dance Studio (by library) at 1pm, and the public performance would be on January 29th or 30th. We will confirm the public presentation of this soon.

Justin's recent works include both theatrical plays and screenplays, and he is currently developing a television pilot called Boundary Bay that explores issues arising from resource extraction on Indigenous territory in the Pacific Northwest. A brief outline of Boundary Bay is: The battle over a refinery built on tribal land pits a Chief, his family, and the plat's management and employees in a battle over land, water, tradition and life [series, adventure-drama].

These readings will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in acting, writing, and First Nations issues and activism.

If you are interested in getting involved with either or both of the readings, please let us know at:
