THE PALEO HEBREW HERESY

The heretical Paleo movement attempts to establish momentum against the Jewish world by creating Facebook pages like “Hebrew Roots” accompanied by censorship of those who expose them for anti-Semitic statements on their pages. Often promoting theory as fact, the Paleo community asserts a prominence of Paleo writing over Block Hebrew (Ashurit) and actively provide “Safe-places” to promote this agenda in order to replace Ashurit Script as the authority in Scripture, at least in the minds of their followers. One of the key anti-agents for this movement is Tim Puzak the moderator for the ‘Hebrew Roots’ Facebook page.

THE CREATORS HANDWRITING

The Scriptures say God wrote The Book of Life and the 10 Commandments in His own unique handwriting. How could any logical person believe God wrote in Chicken-scratch is beyond me. The names in the Book of Life are not in a script developed by a primitive society, nor are they in pictographs like Paleo cave drawings.

Exodus 32:16 והלחת מעשה אלהים המה והמכתב מכתב אלהים

Translation:” The Tablets the handiwork of God they were and the script, the script of God”.

“THE SCRIPT OF GOD” in this passage is obviously not lending credit to a man-made writing. Deuteronomy 31:18 & 32:16 “Inscribed by The Finger of God”. About transcribing the 2^nd set of tablets God said:

Exodus 34:27 ויאמר יהוה אל-משה כתב-לן את-הדברים האלה

Translation: Hashem said to Moses, Write for yourself these (specific) words.

Obvious Conclusion: This was NOT a language developed by men from primitive pictographs. This was a new (to us) holy language given by the Creator in its complete form. Torah specifically makes an issue that this script was extremely unique. Not the existing paleo stick figures of the time. Elohim did not write in chicken scratch.

EZRA THE SCRIBE & HIGH PRIEST

1. Ezra gave us the Torah in Block Script not Paleo Slave Language (PSL) or common language of the nations.

2. Ezra made his copy from the scroll that was found before the Babylonian captivity. It was “THE” Book Of The Law from Moses. And obviously not in PSL.

3. The Paleo Movement disrespects the real Hebrew Roots of the American Jewish community and its publishers who preserved and delivered us the Tanach, while simultaneously insulting Israelites who gave their lives to preserving Torah for us over the centuries.

4. PSL movement denies testimony of rabbinical professors that Ashurit / Block Script is from Sinai.

5. Deny that the Scroll that is read by King Josiah, “THE Book Of The Law” was the copy directly preserved since Moses and was used by Ezra in restoration of the Temple. They submit by theory that some Babylonian language was instead used. However, they overlooked the laws of the scribe that dictate that there would be no change while copying the Torah Scroll. That includes the type of script.

6. PSL movement has no leader of their movement. So there is no authority and no accountability. Its just guess work and easily changed Wiki pages they depend on.

7. If, hypothetically, Ezra had changed the script from Paleo to Block, it would have been WELL KNOWN and well recorded.

To suggest PSL was the original tongue is an incredible insult to the nation of Israel, to the Great Synagogue, also to Ezra The Scribe and High Priest.

8. Openly defy all authorities on the Hebrew Bible, Tanach and defy its preservation with only a few scraps and no complete manuscripts of PSL as a replacement.

9. The PSL movement resist the Holy Spirit in deciphering the true from false in these matters.

10. Ezra The Scribe was exact in his efforts to restore any and all of the Temple, its rituals and the Torah including writing in the Holy Tongue of Ashurit Script.

11. The PSL primary document is the “great” Isaiah Scroll that is well known to have over 2,600 errors and variations and obvious developments (additional writing) over time.

The true keeper of Torah is the Nation of Israel. To deny the record that the Jews have preserved our true Hebrew roots is a titanic error and anti-Semitic.

Exhibit of proof:

“Vav” Lies from PSL GROUPS

Sanhedrin 22a

רשב"א אומר משום ר' אליעזר בן פרטא שאמר משום רבי אלעזר המודעי כתב זה לא נשתנה כל עיקר שנאמר (שמות כז, י) ווי העמודים מה עמודים לא נשתנו אף ווים לא נשתנו ואומר (אסתר ח, ט) ואל היהודים ככתבם וכלשונם מה לשונם לא נשתנה אף כתבם לא נשתנה

The baraita continues: Rabbi Shimon ben Elazar says in the name of Rabbi Eliezer ben Perata, who said in the name of Rabbi Elazar HaModa’i: This script did not change at all, as it is stated with regard to the construction of the Tabernacle: “The hooks of [vavei] the poles” (Exodus 27:10). This teaches that just as the poles were not changed, so too, the hooks [vavim] were not changed. The letter vav in Ashurit script has the shape of a hook. Evidently, this is why the term for hook in the Torah is vav. And the verse states: “And to the Jews according to their script and according to their language” (Esther 8:9). This teaches that just as their language was not changed over the generations but remained block Hebrew, so too, their script was not changed.

MIRACLE LETTERS

Exodus 32:15 “Inscribed on both sides” (Shabbos 104a)

As early as 500c well before any paleo arguments started it was well established that the Ashurit Script is the ONLY consideration in the writing style that Moses used. The Talmud (explains that the letters were engraved all-the-way through the stone to the opposite side and spoke of this as a matter-of-fact. Now, since the letters samech ״ס״ and (final) mem ״ם״ in the Ashurit are completely closed, the section of stone in their centers was unattached to the body of the Tablets, and could have remained in place only through a miracle. This, however, is true only with regard to ketav Ashurit Script. In Paleo AKA ketav Ivri, neither the mem nor the samech are completely closed. So, it is impossible for the direct historians of Torah would even have considered ANY other script logically.

GLARING INCONSISTANCIES

1. You will notice also that the Ashurit script Does Not Change over 100’s of years while Paleo has major changes or “Morphs”. Never do we find even a partial evolution transitioning Paleo to Block Hebrew. It is an entirely different language. And yet they submit that the 2 languages sound the same! That is probably the most outrageous claim of all, as far as linguistics go.

2. 3 Talmudic Conversations

A) One comment from Mar Zutra (some say Mar Ukva) said: “Originally, the Torah was given to Israel in Ivri letters and in the “sacred” (Hebrew) language. (This is a Kabbalah / spiritualism theory). Later, in the times of Ezra, the Torah was given in Ashurit script and the Aramaic language. Finally, they selected for Israel the Ashurit script and the Hebrew language, leaving the Ivri characters and the Aramaic language for the commoners.” THIS COMMENT TOTALLY DISAGREES WITH EARLIER SUBMISSIONS OF THE TALMUD.

B) It was taught: Rebbi said: “Torah was originally given to Israel in Ashurit script. When they sinned, it was changed to roetz (Ivri script). When they repented, Ashurit script was reintroduced . . .”

C) R' Shimon ben Elazar said in the name of R' Eliezer ben Parta, who said in the name of R' Elazar Hamoda’i: “This writing was never changed [i.e., it was always in Ashurit script].”

3. PSL best Argument comes from hearsay with NO reference to ANY Rabbi directly hearing / verifying the following: אמר מר זוטרא ואיתימא מר עוקבא בתחלה ניתנה תורה לישראל בכתב עברי ולשון הקודש חזרה וניתנה להם בימי עזרא בכתב אשורית ולשון ארמי ביררו להן לישראל כתב אשורית ולשון הקודש והניחו להדיוטות כתב עברית ולשון ארמי § Mar Zutra says, and some say that it is Mar Ukva who says: Initially, the Torah was given to the Jewish people in Ivrit script, the original form of the written language, and the sacred tongue, Hebrew. It was given to them again in the days of Ezra in Ashurit script and the Aramaic tongue. The Jewish people selected Ashurit script and the sacred tongue for the Torah scroll and left Ivrit script and the Aramaic tongue for the commoners. This is STILL SPECULATION and not worthy as evidence.

SUMMRY:

The claim that paleo is the original script is lifeless.

If the Script had changed, Ezra and the Great Synagogue would have made it well known. It would have been common knowledge and a major news topic almost as large as the Exile itself. Can you imagine the Jews not having a nationwide debate over something as important as this? There would have been well known heated arguments lasting 100’s of years! But no, only since Paleo scraps have been found in The 1950’s and then recently misrepresented by leaderless individuals with no accountability, has this Paleo heresy reinvigorated anti-jewish gatherings.

May all Paleo ”Hebrew” supporters be known as Anti-Semitic by their opposition to the Hebrew Scriptures in the Tanach.
