Almost yearly, much of the Passover keeping world has abandons looking to the Creators Signals in the Sun & Moon (Gen 1:14) for the Feasts by abandoning the Spring Equinox and starting the whole Festival Year at the wrong time. The biggest mistake is in reckoning the Spring Feasts by Agriculture instead of using the designated timepiece ordained by The Creator in the Heavens.
If we are not using the Sun and Moon (both) then we are not keeping the accurate Seasons / Feasts. And therefore, Not Keeping Torah. There is no greater Solar event in Spring than the Equinox. To abandon this obvious signal, is to abandon Torah.
Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years;

Remarkably, the 8th day of the Festival, that is also the 7th day of Unleavened Bread falls on the 3rd Quarter of the Moon (Signal). The Festival recognizes a Seasonal Cycle to the Weekly Sabbath. It is an 8 day lunar week between Quarters or lunar signals. The same thing happens at Sukkot.
THE OMER COUNT

The15th day is a High Sabbath (Shabbaton / שבתון) separated from the Weekly Sabbath on the 14th. So, there is s Weekly Shabbat and then the High Shabbat the next day on the 15th.
Lev 23:34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying: On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto HaShem.

Note: a Shabbaton is different that the Regular Weekly Sabbath. Remarkably, the 8th day of the Feast falls on the 3rd Quarter of the Moon (Signal). The Feast seems to recognize a Seasonal Cycle to the Weekly Sabbath. It is an 8 day lunar week between "lunar signals".

*SPECIAL NOTE ON BARLEY CALENDAR KEEPERS
DO NOT LET THESE “GREEN EARS” trouble you. The Hebrew word for new grain, green ears is Karmel כרמל not Abib. And the Word for Barley is Sorah שְׂעֹרָה . Case and point, Exodus 9:31 "and the Flax and the Barley were ruined" because they were ripe already and exposed, unlike the Wheat and the Spelt that were "late ripening" or not ripe, and not destroyed. So, by deduction, the Passover is held during a Ripe Barley not a green one in early Spring.
Whoever is teaching you this “Green Ear” means Abib, is not teaching you the language. I don’t care how they have been credentialed when they are not teaching the correct words.This is why I ask if your teachers know how to read Hebrew.
I read the direct language and do not care how this word has “morphed” to mean green in this age. The word Abib is a root of “Father”. In every other translation of this root word “Father” is the intended use as the base. Therefore, I submit, if we are looking at Barley, then it would be mature like a Father, and not green and young.
So, because Barley, which is never directly mentioned in relation to the commandment of Passover, and it is harvested late Spring, then Barley is NOT our signal to begin our Feast Calendar. And keeping the Festival Calendar by signs in Agriculture instead of the "Signs" of the Sun and Moon in Gen 1:14 is against Torah.
