1951 to Present (page 2)

A new beginning

Fast forward to 1988. A few of the original Road Angels members along with some of their friends were hanging out together with their hot rods and talking car stuff so they decided to recreate the club.

Stark Street Pizza Parlor in S.E. Portland was chosen to be the club's meeting place and the Road Angels, once again, began to take shape. The original members helped connect the group to its 1950s roots including adopting the same clothing logos and club name plaques.

Early runs were made to the Oregon coast and many Portland area locations. Later the club would make many annual trips to Bend, OR for the Cruise of the Cascades event, host cruise-ins like the Burns Bros. event in Troutdale, OR and the downtown Vancouver, WA event just to mention a few.

The early '90s events saw many of the club members dress in their traditional red and white shirts, pants and coats. It was easy to tell a Road Angel at an event!

One of the more memorable tours was the visit and photo shoot at Portland's historic Pittock Mansion high on the hills overlooking Portland.
