Melissa Donovan,
The Social Committee is still looking for a couple of directors. Also we need chairpersons for events. You would only take on one event. We have procedures on how to run the events.
And if I go while you’re still here ...

SeCURITY AND SAFETY
SANDPIPER SPEED LIMIT – A REMINDER
Larry Alberts
The speed limit within our community is 20 MPH. A board member has been in the community with a radar gun and did not catch anyone going more than a few miles over the speed limit. A resident, who has also expressed concern about speeding, borrowed the radar gun and found the same result. ALSO, we do have a police presence in Sandpiper on a weekly basis doing radar checks, and they have told the Board that only one ticket has been issued in the last six months. For more, click arrow ->
While we have made numerous attempts and will continue to attempt to control speeding in Sandpiper, it is difficult to catch everyone abusing the speed limit without 24-hour surveillance.
When walking, remember to walk on the left side of the street, FACING oncoming cars. When biking, ride on the right side WITH the vehicles. Also, wear white or reflective clothing, use red flashers or a light to be more visible, especially at dawn, dusk, or in the dark.
Sandpiper Citizens' Assisted Patrol
S-CAP is always looking for new folks to train and put on the road. Let's face it, you know you always wanted to drive a police car...Now is your chance.
If you would like to join S-CAP, either call Steve Spiegel or hail the car when you see it. There is always an application form available from the driver/volunteer.
