MAGIC Gardening

Mt. Auburn Gardens Collaborative and Initiative (MAGIC)

What is MAGIC?

The Mt. Auburn Gardens Initiative & Collaborative is a neighborhood-focused collaboration between the Mt. Auburn Chamber of Commerce and Chamber Foundation, Mt. Auburn Community Council, the Mt. Auburn Community Development Corporation, Uptown Rental Properties, Isaiah 55 Inc., The Christ Hospital Health Network and The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Mt. Auburn Baptist Church, The Center for Closing the Health Gap, William Howard Taft Elementary, Mt. Auburn Preparatory Academy, Albion Gardens, The Mac House LLC., The Giving Trees Project, The Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati, and the Meshewa Farm Foundation.

This initiative is part of The Christ Hospital Health Network’s Healthier Mt. Auburn Taskforce, which is focused on addressing the socioeconomic, physical environment, health behaviors, and health care factors that prevent access to affordable, nutritious, and locally grown food for our residents. Our group seeks to activate green space and existing community gardens for healthy recreation activities, such as food production, creative place making, and larger resident-community engagement.
