Quinta De Ventozelo
2000 Vintage Port. £45.00. Ventozelo make vintage ports that whilst more than capable of ageing for decades, also provide a beautifully balanced port in its youth. Dense, brambly fruit with licks of liquorice, spice, coffee and tobacco followed by a long lingering finish.
2003 Vintage Port. £30.00. Their Port from '03 is deeply extracted, with a reserved aromatic profile that shows cassis, grenadine syrup and mocha the second day. The palate is juicy and medium-full bodied with tart blackberry flavours and a coarse texture that improved dramatically the second day. The tannins are massive and this wine could age for the LT. The finish has good length.
2003 LBV Port. £17.50. Ventozelo's jaw droppingly beautiful vineyards yield concentrated, complex grapes with which to make this dense, complex style of LBV. Avoiding filtration, Ventozelo allow all the natural intensity of fruit to come through which, when coupled with judicious wood maturation, produces one of the finest ports of its type.
Quinta Do Portal
Fine white port. £17.50. Serve chilled for a delicious aperitif or after dinner port due to it being medium bodied with a slight sweetness. With a delectable honey and nut taste it’s a lighter port option. Great potential as long drink with tonic water, lemons and mint leaves.
Lagrima white port. £17.50. The sweetest white port from Quinta do Portal is the original type of white port. The fruit and freshness perfectly balance the alcohol and the sugars of the Lagrima. It is deliciously sweet to make it the perfect partner for your dessert.
Extra dry white port. £17.50. A great extra dry white port with an amazing brilliant colour. When you try it, you will feel how well balanced this white port is between ripe citrus and floral notes. Perfect to drink as an aperitif or with tonic water, mint, lemon and ice.
