Clearwater – Waipara & Marlborough
Pinot Noir. £14.60. Widely regarded as the best region for Pinot Noir in New Zealand, Waipara produces the most balanced, typical examples of the variety. The ethereal, violet and raspberry character on the nose gently mingle with touches of woodsmoke, allspice and tobacco and follow through to a silky-smooth palate of vibrant red fruits with a beautiful undercurrent of mocha, creamy vanilla and violets.
Mayfly
Sauvignon Blanc. £11.00. No tricks here, just a youthful and exquisite Sauvignon Blanc with prominent asparagus, mature peach and exotic fruit notes on the nose. Fresh and deliciously crisp with excellent natural acidity and a long citric and peach aftertaste as well as a rounded body and good structure.
Stanley
Noble Rot Sauvignon Blanc. £16.00. A luscious dessert wine made from fully botrytised grapes from the short rows above Steve and Bridget's house. The aromas of orange blossom lead into the ripe, succulent flavours of honey and marmalade, with a tinge of acidity to give a clean finish on the palate.
Sherwood
Pinot Noir. £11.75. The signature wine of Sherwood Estate, the Pinot Noir exhibits a bouquet of fragrant, violet laced red berry fruit overlaid with nuances of spice and mocha. A subtle palate of silky-smooth raspberry fruit follows through to a lengthy, delightful, typically scented finish.
