The Greek School of Glasgow has a historical tradition regarding the Adult Classes.
Following our school values, the Adult classes aim not only to promote the Greek language and culture but also to impart intertemporal core values of Greek civilisation and ethos.
Our school emphasises in the learning needs of each individual. There is a strong belief that every single student has her/his own needs and her/his own abilities and skills with regard to studying a foreign language.
We offer Modern Greek language courses for all learners from beginners up to near-native speakers, and our qualified and experienced native speaker teachers help our students prepare for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek (levels A1 to C2), an official qualification recognised by the Greek Ministry of Education in accordance with the widely accepted regulations of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Most of our courses are made up of three modules, each of which lasts a term of 12/13 weekly lessons of 90 minutes each. Group lessons, for between 5 and 20 students, take place Tuesday and Wednesday evenings (18.00–21:00) . Group face-to-face classes are held at one of the classrooms in the St Luke's Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 27 Dundonald Road, Glasgow G12 9LL. Distance Learning courses are also available (subject to demand). We are using G Suite for education platform for the delivery of online courses and our delivery is based on real time engagement and flipped classroom approach that comprises of interactive online material, Google Classroom asynchronous interactions and video based (Google Meet) virtual classroom interactions. Each student will be given a free G suite educational account during the enrollment process with added benefits (e.g. infinite Google Drive storage, access to Google Meet, Classroom, YouTube educational licence and a variety of educational google applications).
