Newark Book Festival

Saturday and Sunday, 15th - 16th of July were the dates for the Newark Book Festival 2017. The previous two years, the event was known as Books in the Castle and was situated in the grounds of the historic Newark Castle. This year, the festival expanded to new levels as events were held at venues right across Newark.

My stand was in the Market Place, transformed for the weekend into the 'Literature Quarter'. Alongside other great authors and booksellers, it was a great weekend and I got to meet all kinds of readers and browsers. Particularly exciting to meet were those who remembered me from previous years and wanted to say hello and see what Arthur and Teresa were up to in Arilon!

It also saw the second outing of the 'Arthur Ness and the Secret of Waterwhistle - The Collected Edition'. The collection of Parts 1 and 2 of the Secret of Waterwhistle into a single volume continued to be extremely popular and helped introduce newcomers to the opening Arilon Chronicles tale by giving them the entire exhiliarating adventure in one mind-blowing hit!

It was a fantastic occasion and I'm certainly looking forward to heading back there again next year. (And the bacon buttie stand nearby is in no way influencing my desire to return. Honest.)
