Lowdham Book Festival

On the 24th June 2017, I was very fortunate to be invited to attend the world famous Final Saturday of the 2017 Lowdham Book Festival. It was a fantastic day, as it is every year, and I had the good fortune to be situated in between the amazing Ukranian wartime drama of Maria Diedzan and the incomparable British historical fiction of Stephen Taylor.

It was also a special event for the Arilon Chronicles because it saw the official launch of the 'Arthur Ness and the Secret of Waterwhistle - The Collected Edition'. This book collects Parts 1 and 2 of the Secret of Waterwhistle into a single volume and proved extremely popular, completely selling out in one day.

I met many friendly and enthusiastic readers, eager to delve into the world of Arthur Ness - and more than a few adults purchased it with absolutely no intention of handing it over to the children it was aimed at! Everyone from teenagers to middle-aged people (like me!) to pensioners appeared enthralled by the promise of dark magic and fantastic adventures. And why not?

I'm looking forward to attending the festival again next year and I know I'll have to bring extra carrier bags - even as an exhibitor, I somehow managed to buy my weight in books from other stands around the hall...
