Simple HTML Exercises

Objective / Final Product

Using Notepad and direct entry of HTML, create a collection of 5 simple webpages that demonstrate your understanding of basic HTML principles and usage.

Steps

Create a folder called SimpleHTML in an appropriate location in your network drive. All the files created and used will be stored in this folder.

Using the contents listed below for each file neatly demonstrate your knowledge and skills with HTML. Keep your codes simple and neat.

Tables.htm

• • Your name in the title bar of the browser

  • White background

  • All content centered

  • A 2 column by 5 row table with an appropriate heading and your course schedules for the first and second semester.

  • A 5 column 3 row table organizing your favourite 2 famous people from each of the following categories: Sports, Music, Movies, Television, Politics. The column and row headings should be bolded

  • An appropriate blue heading (H2) should appear above each table.

Images.htm

• • The school name in the title bar of the browser

  • All content left aligned

  • Blue background

  • A small image of the Mona Lisa (<200 pixels wide)

  • Below the above image, include a medium sized image (between 200 and 600 pixels) of a race car with a visible border around it.

  • Below the race car, include a large image of a famous celebrity.

Lists.htm

• • Your country's name in the title bar of the browser

  • Simple graphical background

  • All content left aligned

  • Create an ordered list (A) of your 6 favourite foods

  • Create an unordered list (square) of your 5 closest fiends

Text.htm

• • Your school's motto in the title bar of the browser

  • White background

  • All content left aligned and appropriately spaced

  • Include two, 5 line, limericks each with an appropriate heading (H1)

  • The first line of each must be bold and red

  • The second line of each must be italics and green

  • The third line of each must be underline and yellow

  • The fourth line of each must alternate purple and pink words

  • The fifth line of each must alternate blue and brown words

Links.htm

• • Your name in the title bar of the browser

  • Green background

  • All content centered

  • An appropriate blue heading (H2) should appear above the links.

  • Create links to each of the other four webpages in this assignment

Neatly print off the source code for the five files. Include an appropriate title page.

Submit your paper document to the teacher.
