Major Daniel "Danny" Jones has worn numerous hats throughout his life. Immediately after High School, he joined the United States Marine Corps. While staying in the Marine Corps reserves, he attended and graduated from TN Wesleyan College in Athens, TN with a business degree in 2000. Edward Jones Investments recruited Daniel to become a Financial Advisor where he stayed just after 9/11/2001. 

Danny was deployed to Africa in January 2002 to combat the War on Terrorism. Once home, he applied and was accepted to join the Chattanooga Police Department in Dec. 2003. While employed at the Chattanooga Police Department, he was subsequently deployed two more times through the Marine Corps Reserves. Both times he was sent to Iraq. One of these deployments was in Fallujah during the largest ground house-to-house fighting since Vietnam. The other deployment he was assigned to the Iraqi Police. 

While at the police department, he served in different divisions of the department. He spent 10 years on SWAT, did a year as a task force officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), was a part of the Public Information Office, spent two years as the sergeant over the gang unit, zone commander of the officers in Baker South, and is currently the commander of Special Operations and Support Services Commander. These units include SWAT, Hostage Negotiations, Bomb Squad, Traffic, DUI, Regulatory, Special Events, Homeland Security, Technology, Courts, Property Division, Records, and is the co-coordinator of Peer Support.
