Professor of the Department of Industrial Organisation at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, PhD in Industrial Engineering and Msc in Innovation Management by AENOR.

His teaching activity focuses on the area of innovative management of organizations and quantitative methods. He has developed his academic and research career at the Bilbao School of Engineering of the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. Her main research interest focuses on innovation management, a line of research in which he has been working for 20 years. He is the author of numerous publications in national and international journals in the field of management, integration of management systems, innovation and technology.

Rosa María Río-Belver has a PhD in Engineering, specializing in Industrial Engineering, MSc in Environmental Sciences and Technology and Msc in Management of Innovation by AENOR .

She is a University professor at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU; teaching subjects such as Operations Research, Industrial and Technological Politics and Competitiveness-Innovation. Her main research interests are focused on innovation management, competitive intelligence, technology maps, emerging technologies, tech mining, knowledge engineering, and foresight. She is the author of numerous papers and is involved in national and European projects.

Dr. Garechana currently serves at the Business Management department of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Itziar Martínez de Alegría is Graduated in Business Administration and Economic Sciences by the Facultad de Ciencias Economicas y Empresariales (Sarriko) of the University of Basque Country (UPV-EHU). She as a PhD in Economics in the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Bilbao (ETSIB) of the UPV/EHU and has a Master in European Studies by the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) and the University of Deusto (Spain). From the year 2000 she has worked as Professor Assistant at the ETSIB in the areas of Economics and Business Management. She has written a wide number of articles, book chapters and other publications in the areas of Energy, Climate Change Policy and Sustainable Development. She has also been a speaker in different International and National Congress related with the aforesaid areas. From the year 2008 she is Coordinator of the Economy and Energy Areas of the Energy Working Group at the International Studies Chair (Cátedra de Estudios Internacionales (UPV/EHU)), as well as usual invited speaker at the Conference on Energy and Climate Change (Spain) organized by the cited Chair.

Ph.D. in Economics by the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU) and Tenured Lecturer in the same university. From the beginning of his academic career, in 1998, he has combined teaching and research tasks with knowledge transfer towards companies and public administrations. His research work has been almost exclusively empirical and quantitative in approach. He is interested in different aspects of social and economic reality, from social policy and the Welfare State, to management of Higher Education Institutions and university-business relations. He has collaborated with several regional statistical institutes in a long-term basis, as well as with other public and private institutions. Most of his collaborations have consisted in the elaboration of statistical information and its analysis. In particular, he has worked in the design and elaboration of several official statistics.
