One of the latest facility offered by Google is Google Scholar, Which helps research people to surf for scholarly articles for their research purpose. Now Google has increased the facility in the scholar. It can able to list down the article of particular researcher and it also helps researcher by identifying number of citations made on that particular article by other researchers.
So, this facility helps researchers to calculate their H index and also the i10 Index automatically, once their research articles added in to Google scholar. This also update the details automatically for further citations and also researchers index value.
The Basic requirements
1. Researcher must have a Gmail ID.
2. Researcher must have a institutional ID.
Procedures to Be followed:
1. Open Google page ---> Slelect More Tab--> in that choose Even more ---> Get Scholar --> You will get Google scholar
search page as Shown below.
2. Go to SIGN IN on the top of Right Corner and Get signed in by using your GMAIL ID (1 in Pic)
3. Then Type your name in Google Scholar search (2) and initiate search. This will list your article which is available in
the Google scholar. (Some times u can type ur article name find. (But if your article is published in few national level
journal will not be listed in it and also journals which don have online activity also will not be there)
4. Once your articles were listed --> Next step click My citation Button (3) on the top corner --> Will take you to a new
page.
5. This page will ask for your full name, Institution, Institution Mail ID and area of Interest.
6. Then it will ask for a set of article with your name to confirm whether it is yours or not. You can just click add to my
citation button below it, for all your articles.
7. Next Step will ask for updates --> Select first option which says yes frequent updates -- > This helps u upadate your
citations automatically by scholar. After completion of 3 steps you will get a window like this.
8.In this page You can Upload your Photo (1) and can edit your details (2)
9. Arrow mark 3 indicates your H index and 4 indicates your i 10 index (The details about those terminologys will ahown
there itself when move your mouse pointer over it)
10. One can add his/her article by selecting add option under action drop down menu (5).
This Calculation is purely based on citation, the system will not consider the impact factor of your journal where your article published and also about the impact factor of journal where other cites your paper. But these factors are important when you go with international level forum.
