TUTORIAL II

Note: All the photographs should contain the camera settings; If the topic does not require DSLR then try to use the mobile phone or point and shoot camera, where the specification not mandatory

 

Team 1.  Light directions – Shoot multiple photographs (should be creative) of a subject (you teammate) by using natural or artificial lights from a different direction. Describe how the light direction changes the mood of the image and mention the settings in camera. Number of photographs required: 20

Team 2. Light ratio – Shoot creative portrait images with two light sources by altering their intensities. (1:1 – 1:8) The team also required to explain the inverse square law with suitable pictures. Note: Subject should be a team member. Shoot each ratio – 3 pictures   

Team 3:  Light styles - Shoot different light styles each 3 photographs. The lights may be artificial or natural or combination of them. The subject should be one of the team members

Team 4:  Outdoor Lights – The team is supposed to take photographs against the sun by applying different methods to avoid under or overexposed photographs without using flash. The team should take photos at different sun position with respect to the subject. 20 images minimum.  

Team 5: Flash photography – Shoot photographs using flash in the outdoor and indoor. Use natural or artificial light to create a perfect image using flash controlling techniques. The subject should be one of your teammates.  Take 25 photographs.

 Team 6: Indoor lightings: Try to shoot portrait images with following light setups (Natural or artificial or both combined). – Key, Fill, hair, rim lights. (each 2 images) Try to shoot, portrait with one light, two light and three light set up as learned in the subject. (Use reflectors and diffusers accordingly) 

Team 7: Silhouette lighting – Shoot 15 images of silhouette shots of different subjects, objects and things. Use any types of the light to create the effect.  

Team 8: Low key lighting – Try to take low key photos of subject 10 and objects 10 and experiment the use of aperture, ISO and shutter speed in picturing low key portraits. Use flash whenever needed.   

Team 9: High key lighting – Try to take high key photos of subject 10 and objects 10 and experiment the use of aperture, ISO and shutter speed in picturing low key portraits. Use flash whenever needed.

Team 10:  Light characters – Shoot photographs of people by altering following light characteristic. Light intensity, colour, contrast and hardness. Each character 5 images.
