(June 2019) Two TeraNano Research Group members successfully defended their Ph.D. theses. Orçun Kiriş has defended his thesis entitled "Investigation of the Hexagonal Lattice Based Reflectarray Antennas" on May 29, 2019. Kholoud Elmabruk has defended her thesis entitled "Development of a Time-domain Spectroscopy System for the Characterization of Terahertz Photoconductive Antennas and Antenna Arrays". Congratulations Dr. Orcun Kiris and Dr. Kholoud Elmabruk!

(June 2019) Three TeraNano Research Group members successfully defended their MSc theses. Muammer Serkan Açıkgöz has defended his thesis entitled "Terahertz Frekansları için Nano-Elektro-Mekanik-Sistemler (NEMS) Anahtar Tasarımı" on June 13, 2019. Gülay Özşahin has defended her thesis entitled "Design, Characterization, and Optimization of Terahertz Spoof Surface Plasmon Polariton Waveguides and Transitions" on June 19, 2019. Tuğba Kemiksiz has defended her thesis entitled "A Study on Dual-Band Reflectarray Antennas and Reconfigurable Terahertz Delay Lines Using NEMS Switches" on June 19, 2019. Our paper is published in Nature Scientific Reports

(May 2019) Our paper entitled "Terahertz Spoof Surface Plasmon Polariton Waveguides: A Comprehensive Model with Experimental Verification" is accepted for publication in Nature Scientific Reports. After being published as a featured article in Electronic Letters in 2017 for the X-band frequencies, our model for the effective dielectric constant of the spoof surface plasmon polaritons is now published in one of the Nature Publishing Group journals for terahertz frequencies.

Dr. Kadir Üstün has joined the Adana Science and Technology University as a faculty member

Prof. Unlu is awarded with Outstanding Young Scientist Award

(May 2015) Prof. Unlu is awarded with the "Outstanding Young Scientist Award (TÜBA-GEBİP)", one of the highest academic honors in Turkey, given by the "Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA)". The objective of TÜBA-GEBIP is to foster young, outstanding scientists who are at the stage of establishing their own research programmes in Turkey after finishing their post-doctoral research activities. Prof. Unlu receives a Reintegration Grant from EU H2020 Marie Sklodowska Curie Program

(February 2015) Prof. Unlu receives a two-year "Reintegration Grant" from "EU Horizon 2020, Marie Sklodowska Curie Program" for his project "Beam steering, frequency reconfigurable terahertz photomixer array using nano-actuators." The Reintegration Grants are given to experienced researchers who turn back to Europe, after a competitive evaluation period with a low acceptance rate.

Prof. Unlu receives a Career Development Program Grant from TUBITAK

(August 2014) Prof. Unlu receives a three-year "Career Development Program Grant" from "The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK)" for his project "Development of frequency reconfigurable, wideband, high radiation resistance photomixers and photoconductive antennas for terahertz frequencies."
