We use several software for our multi-disciplinary studies. We use ANSYS HFSS and CST for full-wave EM analysis of the quantum components, and Lumerical for our designs in the optical bands. We use AWR Microwave Office, ADS, and Cadence for our circuit level simulations and integrated circuit designs, respectively. We also use Coventorware for our electromechanical simulations and process design.
Abdullah and Prof. Unlu are in the METU MEMS Center labs for the fabrication.
We do most of our fabrication and testing locally in Ankara. We mostly use the METU MEMS Center and SUNUM for our fabrication, where our group members perform the fabrication. We also have access to other labs in the US (Lurie Nanofabrication Facility and Cornell Nanoscale Facility), we use them when necessary.
We have a basic set of equipment up to 26.5 GHz, which includes VNA, spectrum analyzer, and signal source. We collaborate with Prof. Ali Bozbey for the packaging and characterization of the superconducting microwave circuits and Prof. Hamza Kurt for the characterization of the photonic integrated circuits.Â
For our terahertz on-wafer measurements, we collaborate with TeraProbes, Inc., who has measurement capabilities up to 1.5 THz.
