Here is a brief summary of my experiences prior to surgery in July 2011 as requested during our last consultation:
In July 2008 I underwent a roux-en-y gastric bypass with very successful weight loss.
The following year I experienced sporadic bouts of intense visceral pain and after several admissions to A&E, I was diagnosed with gallstones and underwent a cholecystectomy in July 2009.
From then until my most recent surgery in July 2011, I experienced the same bouts of pain as experienced prior to my cholecystectomy and I attended A&E on numerous occasions over the past two years for pain relief. The duration of pain varied greatly lasting anywhere between 5 minutes and 3 hours. The pain originated from my abdomen and spread throughout my shoulder blades and was always accompanied by nausea and vomiting. I never experienced any lasting effects once the pain had ceased. These episodes seemed random and I could not pinpoint them to any type of diet or exercise. This year during a CT scan, two sites of intestinal intussusception were identified. I have recovered very well from my surgery and am extremely pleased with the outcome.
Thank you Mr Viswanath,
