Gabriele is going to be part of the scientific team of the cross-disciplinary workshop and residency "The Conscious Body (II):Performance and spectating" organized by the project Labodanse and funded by the Labex H2H. Paris, 30 Septembrer-6 October 2013. A public performance will take place on Sunday 6 October.

La Briqueterie – Vitry-sur-Seine
Further to a week long research residency on the theme of performance and synergy, the international group of 10 artists (dancers, performers) and scientists, lead by Robyn Orlin and Natalie Sebanz, will be presenting a performance about performance, on the cognitive, emotional, physical and social aspects implicated by the performative situation and our esthetic intuition.
The Conscious Body aims to go beyond established borders between “art” and “science” by gathering experts in those various fields and inviting them to share their knowledge and research techniques around common interest issues. This year’s theme, “performance and the art of spectating”, will address issues such as the nature of empathy, theory of mind, shared attention, action comprehension, simulation, joint action, ritual practices and the politics of power.
The public event is conceived as a genre of hybrid and innovative performance, combining “artistic” and “scientific” forms of communication and interaction.

from 2:30 pm : Meeting with the residency participants who will be presenting their work individually
