Technology is Changing Everything
Keynote Presentation
"Angie Kalthoff, entrepreneur, innovator and educator, kicked off the day with a keynote presentation showcasing the evolution of technology from the days of Oregon Trail to, the now popular, Fortnite. Ms. Kalthoff encouraged students to seek solutions to current problems through computer science. During Breakout Sessions, Ms. Kalthoff presented sessions featuring coding through Code.org, Scratch, and other online resources. Students were engaged and focused in these activities."

Press Release from the Dragon Technology Summit
"Student and staff feedback has been very positive. One area educator who presented summed it up well, “This, as far as I know, is the ONLY student technology conference in MN. It’s a fantastic idea because it gives students the chance to see what else is out there outside of normal curriculum. They get a view of the world from a community and professional perspective outside of the sometimes narrow tunnel of the school. Great work! Great ideas! Super fun!” A current PCHS staff member said, “It was informative, beneficial, and productive. Students and staff were enriched in their learning.” Staff are enthusiastic about future Dragon Technology Summits. Students reacted very positively by saying this about their sessions and presenters, “The ones I had were amazing and it was really fun to learn about graphic design and actually get to try it.” Another student provided the following encouragement, “Shout out to all of the teachers who helped and gave their time.” Finally, one student who really is a technology enthusiast reported, “I think we should do a whole day of this so we get more time to learn about technology and how to use it.”
"After Ms. Kalthoff’s presentation students were asked what they were going to create, this young seventh grader enthusiastically shared her vision to the crowded room."
"Ms. Angie Kalthoff, Lena R., and Robin O. were all smiles during a session on coding. They were learning how to make their own emoji through Made with Code."
