Psych Google Drive Activity January 8th

OK, Gang.  Let's do this.

This is the only way you turn stuff in for Psychology Class.  If you can't figure this out, you won't get any credit for any writing assignments.

Remember that there's a button that says "help" on most pages.  Before you whine and ask me, try to problem-solve.  You're supposed to be the most tech-savvy generation.  Prove it.

1) Click on this link to get to Google Drive.  drive.google.com

2) If you already have a Google Account or gmail, sign in.  If not, follow the directions to sign-up.  You are allowed to use your present e-mail address if you want.  Try not to forget your password.

3) Once you see your "Drive" with all your documents in it (there probably won't be any), click on the left menu "Create"

4) Create a New Folder.

5) Name that new folder "Period Last name First name Psychology".  BUT USE YOUR INFO.  DON'T BE THE AIRHEAD.  If I was in first period, I'd call my folder "P1 Cummins Michael Psychology".  We will all laugh at you if you name it something stupid.  You can do this.

6) Now, that new folder should be at the top of your list of documents.

7) Click the box to the left of it.  Click the Share button.

8) There is a box that says Invite People.  Put my e-mail address in there.  teachercummins@gmail.com  Make sure the blue words to the right say "can edit".  This is important.

9) Click "Done"

10) Wait until it appears on the big screen and I've put a star next to it.  I might yell out your name when you've successfully gotten to this point.

11) On your Drive page, double-click that same folder.

12) Create a new "document".  It will kinda be like a word document.  It will say "Create in a shared folder"?  You say "Create and share"  That way, for the rest of the semester everything you create in that folder will automatically be shared with me.

13) In that document I want you to simply answer this question:  What is normal?  I want it to be at least five sentences.

14) Name that document something obvious.  Like "What is Normal".  Do not leave it as "untitled document".  That would be weaksauce.

15) If it's named correctly, and you followed the rules.  And you've shared it with me.  And I can edit it.  I'll say something to you.

16) Now help those around you who can't figure this out.  Sometimes what's easy for us is impossible for others.

17) Use the rest of your time wisely.  Join the Facebook group.  There are links to some Psychology magazines on the webpage here.  Go explore.  Find something trippy to talk about.
