Membership Requirements

The following are abbreviated requirements - for full details refer to the Constitution & By-laws

Membership Types: 

• Full, Honorary, Life and TIM (Temporarily Inactive Member).

Attendance: 

• Full i.e. the majority of our members.

• Attendance is mandatory at not less than 50% of regular Club meetings in any one year, subject to leave of absence in cases of sickness or on any other reasonable grounds. 

• Leave of absence must be sought from the Committee and approved.

Proviso: 

• Request for and approval of leave of absence does not mean automatic inclusion on the TIM list. Each application is considered on its merits.

Honorary And Life: 

• Same requirements as above.

 TIM Members: 

• Granted leave for health or other reasons will be listed as temporarily inactive members and will remain on the roll.

Apology: 

• It is common courtesy and of considerable help to the attendance officer to record an apology for non-attendance at meetings. This is particularly important if a number of meetings are involved and leave of absence should then be sought.

Prospective Members: 

• Intending or prospective members and visitors are restricted to attendance at no more than 2 monthly meetings.

New Members: 

• It is firstly the responsibility of the Proposer, (and indeed of all members) to ensure that new members, once inducted, are made welcome and encouraged to fully participate in all facets of the Tauranga Vision Club life.
