New Member Information

Purpose

• The Tauranga Vision Club is an association of active retirees who join together in clubs, which provide regular opportunities to keep their minds active, expand their interests, and enjoy the fellowship of new friends.

Structure

• The Club is run by a President and a Committee elected by its members.

Subscriptions

• An annual fee is set by the committee at the beginning of the Club year (currently $25) plus a nominal entry fee at each meeting to cover cost of the venue and morning tea ($7).

Activities

• A formal meeting is held on the fourth Monday of the month.

This comprises a business session, a coffee/tea break followed by a guest speaker or entertainment of some kind.

• Hobby and Interest Groups:

Birthday Luncheons / Coffee Group morning / Travel /  Films / Walking, etc.

New groups can be formed if enough members are interested.

• Outings to places of interest:

Whole or half day. Costs vary according to hire charges for bus and entry fee to places visited.

• Luncheons/Dinners:

Guess who’s coming to dinner, mid-winter, Christmas and potluck lunches. Group lunch for members having their birthday in the same month going to a venue together on a selected date. Costs depend on venue.

• Occasional inter-club tournaments i.e. bowls.

You can be as active and involved as you wish on any of the above activities. However, we do need people to help run the Club on duties such as pouring coffee/tea, run the raffles and making yourself available to serve on the committee.

We hope you will enjoy your time with us.
