Going in Style, directed by Zach Braff and starring Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin, is released today. I'm walking around in the scene during which Caine and Freeman are using a motorized scooter and a bag of flour to escape a security guard. Fun Fact: We shot this on Grand Street in Brooklyn on what was the hottest day in about two years, which meant bad air quality and awful garbage smells. I guess this paid me back for having enjoyed the Girls shoot too much, sigh.

Happy New Year, everyone.

As it happens, I've just completed a new Level 6 improv class at The PIT, coached by Chris Griggs. Our single class show is happening this Saturday, January 7. You can get tickets here, though I'm told that we're in for a horrible snowstorm this weekend. I'd love to see a big crowd, but please stay safe.

Beautiful weather today for the New York City Labor Day Parade. I marched with the massive Actors' Equity group, carrying my blue sign all the way up Fifth Avenue. On a certain block of Fifth Avenue, there might have been some rather loud booing from our group; I suppose that was the moment when our parade became a march, at least for a little while.

Money Monster opens today, directed by Jodie Foster and starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts (and also Caitriona Balfe for all you Outlander fans). As The Silence of the Lambs happens to be my favorite film of all time, I can't tell you how much I loved having Clarice Starling herself yelling "CUT!" It's possible that I might be visible in some of the protest scenes, holding either a large cardboard sign or my smartphone with its bright green case.

Tonight's episode of Girls, "Queen for Two Days," was shot at Wave Hill, a gorgeous estate in Riverdale. On top of the stunning location, we had nearly perfect weather and superb craft services, which made my job of lounging around in the background of several shots superbly easy to do.

After a full 27 years as an Equity Membership Candidate, as of today I am now a full member of Equity!

The irony is that the EMC program played no role in my joining the union. As it happens, all of the TV and film background work I've done over the last year or so through SAG-AFTRA gave me eligibility to join their sister union. AND, I only started doing background work to beef up my on-camera experience, since most of my performance work has been on stage. It's all a bit convoluted, but in any event, I finally got my card! And now, to slowly pay down the initiation fee ...

Today marks the release of The Intern, directed by Nancy Meyers and starring Robert De Niro, Anne Hathaway and Rene Russo. Assuming my footage isn't on the cutting-room floor, you might see me standing on the street as De Niro and Russo walk by. Fun Fact: There was an ice cream truck on a side street giving away free scoops to the cast and crew; rumor on set was that Russo had paid for all of it herself. I didn't dare approach to ask whether that was true, but let's just assume it is, and that Rene Russo is a lovely person.

If you're a fan of Vikings, then you'll definitely want to watch tonight's episode of Person of Interest, "Skip," as it features the excellent Katheryn Winnick playing a bounty hunter. Also, you might see me playing a passed-out drunk in an Irish bar.

There's a very good chance that you'll see me on tonight's episode of Allegiance, "Tipping Point," playing a cider vendor at a farmer's market. Word is that Allegiance has been canceled, which likely makes this the final episode to be broadcast, but I'm hearing rumors that the remaining episodes will be available somewhere online.

If you watch tonight's episode of Gotham, "Everyone Has a Cobblepot," you might just spot me in the background of the diner scene with Ben McKenzie and Nicholas D'Agosto. Fun Fact: we shot this in Williamsburg on the morning of a snowstorm that seemed so ominous that the city briefly shut down the subway system later that day.

At long last, the pinnacle of improv classes at The PIT. My Level 5 class shows, once again coached by Nate Starkey, are taking place on August 23 and August 30 in New York. As always, click here for tickets.

During my recent improv break, I spent some time working with the lovely Daphne Danielle on her West Side Story episodic spoof, Upper West Side Story. The episodes, in which I play Officer Crummy as well as some other dancing characters, are now being posted on YouTube. Click here!

I had a GRAND time at Cracking the Voiceover Code last night, which took place at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens. I won the audition contest, coached by audiobook guru Johnny Heller, and brought home an array of fabulous prizes, including tickets to see a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman. Am thrilled beyond words, and grateful to all of my coaches and colleagues. Thanks everybody!
